Dr. Muhammad Shahadat Hossain Siddiquee, Profession of Economics, University of Dhaka did his Masters in Economics from the University of Dhaka. He also completed his MA in Economics of Development from Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands. Later he did his Ph.D. in Development Policy from the University of Manchester, UK.
Dr. Siddiquee started his carrier as an Economist for Research and Evaluation Division (RED), BRAC before joining to the University of Dhaka. He also worked as Adjunct Faculty in Institute of Business Admiration (IBA), University of Dhaka and Dhaka School of Economics. He worked as Research Associate at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands and Teaching Assistant at the University of Manchester, UK. Besides, he also worked as Visiting and Senior Research Fellow at BRAC Institute of Government and Development (BIGD), BRAC University. Moreover, Dr. Siddiquee also worked as the National Economist for Aisan Development Bank (ADB) and National and Country Consultant for UNFPA, Bangladesh.
Academically, Dr. Siddiquee has been awarded many scholarships such as Commonwealth Scholarship, Netherlands Fellowship Programme, Professor Hans Opschoor Prize for the best research paper, Gold Medal Award (Academic) by Salimullah Muslim Hall Ex-Student Welfare Association; University of Dhaka and Dhaka University Economics Department Alumni Association (DUEDAA) Scholarship.
Dr. Siddiquee published many research reports, articles, books and journals. He has also participated in many conference and seminars at both home and abroad.
